Fantasy Creeps

‘Summer Means New Love’ by the Beach Boys (1965)

‘Come Ride, Come Ride’ by the Merry-Go-Round (1967)
The Merry-Go-Round were a band from L.A and featured Emitt Rhodes as their lead singer. This is their 5th and final single and it rules.

‘If I Knew You Were The One’ by Richard Twice (1970)
Posted before but worth a revisit. Richard Atkins and Richard Manning were Richard Twice. Completely lost and classic.

‘Kings’ by the Steely Dan (1972)
Maybe I post too much Steely?

‘Il Grande Silenzio (Restless)’ by Ennio Morricone (1968)
Watched this movie last night with Klaus Kinski. Pretty great with a very grim ending. I cannot get the main theme out of my head. Dreamy and wonderful.

‘Theme from Perfect Strangers’ written by Jesse Frederick and performed by David Pomeranz (1986)
I defy you to find a more uplifting, inspirational and triumphant jam.

‘Holy Thursday’ by David Axelrod (1968)
Perfection.

‘Baby Blue’ by Badfinger (1972)
Written by Pete Ham and produced by Todd Rundgren. Interestingly enough, it was never released in the UK as a single, only in the US.

‘Jet Silver and the Dolls of Venus’ by Be Bop Deluxe (1974)
Not to be mistaken with Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars by David Bowie. They’re not even remotely similar. OK maybe a little bit.

‘Go South’ by Void (1981)
From the new collection with a bunch of unreleased songs, ‘Go South’ being one of them. Holy crap!

‘Forest Fire’ by Nikki Sudden (1982)
Great use of a rockin’ saxaphone. From his first solo album.

‘Lookin After No. 1’ by the Boomtown Rats (1977)
Their first single when they were still punk.
